Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a long-term commitment, or can I cancel at any time?
The is no long-term commitment.  Whenever you would like to receive an order from us, simply place the order.  If you have placed an order which you find you need to cancel, just let us know the Friday before the scheduled delivery and the order will be cancelled for you.
How often do you deliver? . . . and how often do I need to order?
Deliveries are made once per week to each delivery area.  You can receive an order at any interval you choose (once per week, bi-weekly, monthly, etc.) or just as-needed. Simply place your order no later than 8 p.m. the Friday prior to your requested delivery.  Please let us know whether the order is a 'One-Time Order' or a 'Standing Order'.
Do I need to be home to receive my order?
Being home to accept your delivery is not necessary!  Our products are delivered to your door in clean, modern, refrigerated vehicles which are inspected to meet State regulations --so your product is sure to arrive cold.  When folks expect they will not be home to accept delivery, they generally find it convenient to leave a plastic picnic-type cooler at a pre-arranged spot where they'd like their product left --this is usually sufficient to sustain the proper temperature most of the year.  In the extremes of summer, ice packs help to sustain temperature --these can be left by the customer, or they can be supplied with the order.  Some folks also prefer to purchase one of our Old-Fashioned Milkbox Coolers.  Payment for the order is generally left in the cooler or made by credit card.  And often, a completed Order Form is left for us by those who wish to place their next order at that time.
How much does Home Delivery cost?
Generally, the standard charge a delivery is $3.85 per delivery.
Are there any 'minimums' required to Order?
Depending upon your location, an order as small as $12 could be sufficient.
How do I place my Order?
Orders may be phoned-in, mailed, placed on-line, or left at a previous delivery.
How do I pay for my Order?
For your convenience, NH Milk accepts Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. We also accept cash and personal checks.  (Cash is discouraged unless you plan on being home for the delivery.)
Do you sell Raw Milk?
No, we do not sell raw milk.  Do to concerns for public safety, NH State Law greatly restricts the sale of raw milk.  All the milk we sell is pasteurized and processed in state-inspected facilities.
Are your products Organic? . . . and what is rBST and rBGH?
Products which are 'organic' or are 'pledged by the producer to be rBST/rBGH-free' will be specified as such.  rBST/rBGH are artificial growth hormones used by some dairy farmer to increase milk production.  It's use has stirred controversy amoung some individuals.  The FDA has required labeling to state that "no significant diffference has been shown and no test can now distinquish milk from rBST-treated and untreated cows".
How does the system work for Bottle Deposits? . . . and how do I return my milk bottles?
The sale price of our farm-fresh milk and cream includes a refundable bottle deposit.  When you finish the contents, simply wash your bottles (hot, soapy water is sufficient) and leave them out on delivery day.  (Bottle caps should be discarded.)  We will credit that-day's invoice for the amount of your deposit.
